How to know your CSC Code
Samsung maintains many region-specific and carrier-specific update channels. As a result, you have to determine the exact consumer software customization code, AKA the CSC value of your device, before downloading the Odin firmware.

Open Phone Info Samsung and go to the CSC Code tab. It should show an option that says Active CSC code. You can also use a Samsung-specific Android secret code — *#1234# — to determine the CSC code. Open the dialer in the Phone app and dial *#1234#. On the next screen, you’ll see the software versions of AP, CP, and CSC as well as the model number of your device. The first 3 letters right after the model number represent the CSC code of your device. The active CSC code can be seen after booting the stock recovery as well.
This is to find what your currently active CSC value is. If you already know what it is, you can go ahead and download your firmware from the table above.
How to use Frija Firmware Tool to download Android 13 for Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G SM-G998U
You will need to download Latest Frija v1.4.4 tool on your Windows Pc. Please note that Frija is not available as APK and is not compatible with macOS or Linux. The tool works only with the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7,8,10 and 11.
Before you can download the firmware for your Samsung device, you must find out and note down its model number and CSC code. This is a must if you want to download the correct firmware file and avoid Error 102.
- Unzip Frija-v1.4.4.zip on your Windows desktop using a Zip archiver.
- Open the extracted folder and launch Frija.exe by double-clicking the executable file.
- When Frija is launched, you will see the program window with empty fields in which you have to fill in your Samsung device’s model number and CSC code. Obviously, you must have a working internet connection.
I already described above how you can find out the model number and CSC of your device to download the correct firmware. Fill in the Model and CSC fields and click the Check Update button as shown below. - Frija will check for the latest firmware version available for your Samsung phone or tablet and show you the results. Click the Download button.
- You will be prompted to choose the location on your PC where you want Frija to download and save the firmware file. Don’t modify the name of the firmware file name and click on the OK option.
In my case, the name of the firmware file was SM-G998U_1_20230215013532_c3ccoyms2x_fac.zip.
Depending on your network speed, you may need to wait until the firmware download completes.
On completion, Frija will start checking the CRC32 encryption of firmware and then decrypt it. - Finally, you’ll see the Download Complete message on the progress bar.
- Now, navigate to the location where you saved the firmware file.
- Extract the zip file to get the BL, AP, CP, CSC, and Home CSC binaries inside the firmware folder.
How to Use Odin to Flash Samsung S21 Ultra android 13 Latest Firmware flash file
Step 1: Connect your S21 to your PC via a USB cable. The PC will automatically install the correct USB driver. If the PC doesn’t detect the Samsung device, you will need to install samsung kies or Smart switch on your Computer.

Step 3: Download Samsung firmware from the Table in this post. The Samsung firmware should include AP, BL, CP, CSC, and HOME_CSC files, and these files are in “.tar” or “.tar.md5” format. You will need to unzip the file first.
Step 4: Power off your s21 ultra device and then boot it into Download Mode. To boot into download mode:
Power off the device using the side key or the power icon in quick toggles.
Press and hold the volume up and down key.
While pressing the two buttons, connect your Galaxy S21 device to the PC using the original USB-C cable.
You are now in download mode, press the volume up to continue.
Step 5: Launch the downloaded Odin firmware flashing software (Odin3.exe). You will see the COM port lights up in the Odin window. Now, do as follows:

Do the same for BL, CP, and CSC Note that the regular CSC file will completely wipe the device. In order to preserve the data, simply select the HOME_CSC file.
Under the Options tab, make sure Auto Reboot and Reset Time options are selected.
Step 7: Click on the Start button to install Samsung firmware on your Samsung device.
The flashing process will take a few minutes to complete. When the process is completed, the Samsung device will reboot automatically.
